Soprano Varvara Tishina: A Promising Opera Talent

Varvara Tishina is a rising talent in the world of opera, known for her captivating performances and versatility across various vocal genres. Her journey in classical music has quickly propelled her into the spotlight, where she continues to impress with her intelligence and emotional depth.

Since earning her master’s degree in vocal performance from the Groningen Conservatoire in 2015, Varvara has made significant strides in her career. She has had the pleasure of working with esteemed conductors like Kent Nagano, Michele Mariotti, Teodor Currentzis, Markus Stenz, James Gaffigan, Marcus Creed, Peter Dijkstra, Benjamin Goodson and Klaas Stok. Her versatility shines through in both solo and ensemble settings, covering a wide musical range.

A standout aspect of Varvara’s repertoire is her stunning interpretation of Russian lieder, including works by Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, Glinka, Taneev, and Rimsky-Korsakov. Her bel canto performances, featuring songs by Bellini, Donizetti, and Rossini, have also received much acclaim.

In the world of opera, Varvara has taken on challenging roles with skill and passion. Some of her notable roles include Tatiana in "Eugene Onegin," Violetta in "La Traviata," Mimi and Musetta in "La Bohème," Catherine in "Pierre le Grand," Nedda in "I Pagliacci," Amina in "La Sonnambula," Adina in "L’Elisir D’amore," and Marietta in "Il Borgomastro di Saardam."

Varvara’s voice brings a rich, full tone, soaring high notes, and deep dramatic expression to her performances. On stage, she exudes a youthful vibrancy that captivates audiences. Known for her meticulous musicianship and excellent ensemble skills, Varvara Tishina is an artist with a bright future in opera.
